Brazil's power sector regulator Aneel approved on Tuesday eight green projects with a combined capacity of 62.8 MW from the A-6 energy auction held on August 31, 2018.
The approved schemes consist of the 4-MW Ouro Branco mini hydro (CGH) scheme and seven Ventos de Santa Martina wind projects, each with a capacity of 8.4 MW.
This is the second batch of approvals Aneel gives to winners of the A-6 auction. Earlier this month, the watchdog gave the go-ahead to 52 schemes, which represent a combined capacity of 1,988.34 MW.
From the 62 winning projects, with sources ranging from wind, biomass, hydro and natural gas, there are only two that have not yet been greenlit by Aneel -- the 29-MW Bela Vista small hydropower plant (HPP) and the 20-MW Rio Vermelho biomass plant.
All the winning projects have operations scheduled to commence on January 1, 2024, Aneel noted.
