Brazil okays 324 MW more from April energy auction - report

Brazil's power sector regulator Aneel has given the go-ahead to the remaining 324.73 MW of winner projects of the April 30 energy auction, reports news site Canal Energia.

The list includes four small hydropower plants (HPP), one regular HPP and two biomass plants, to be run on wood chips and sugarcane bagasse, respectively. More details are available in the table below.

In total, the April 30 auction had 14 winners and resulted in 1.9 GW of contracts. The first seven projects were greenlighted last month.

The tender sold 260.1 TWh at a total price of BRL 67.4 billion (USD 19.3bn/EUR 17.2bn), or BRL 259.19 per MWh.
