Brazil's power sector watchdog Aneel approved on Tuesday all four hydropower plant (HPP) concession grants, with a combined capacity of 2.92 GW, awarded during the September 27 auciton.
The tender contracted a total of BRL 12.1 billion (USD 3.7bn/EUR 3.2bn). The concessions were included in the Investment Partnership Programme (PPI) and are qualified as a national priority in the energy sector, Aneel said.
Under the auction rules, contracts have a term of 30 years. They were awarded to China’s State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), French energy group Engie (EPA:ENGI) and Italian energy group Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL).
