Brazil energy min declares Seraima wind plant priority project
Jul 9, 2013 - Brazil's energy ministry declared as priority project the 30-MW Seraima wind power farm, according to a publication in the State Gazette.
The plant is located in the northeastern Bahia state, and it is owned by local wind power developer EOL Seraima. The facility will have a total 20 wind turbines.
The project is authorised to raise funds through the issue of infrastructure debentures which feature some tax incentives. Under local regulation, wind, biomass, solar and nuclear power projects, besides industrial equipment, may be considered priority undertakings if identified as essential for the country's economic development.
