Aug 14, 2013 - Brazilian renewable energy company CPFL Renovaveis closed the second quarter of 2013 with a net loss of BRL 51.6 million (USD 22.4m/EUR 16.9m) against a loss of BRL 5.5 million a year earlier.
The company's net operating revenue jumped by 23.5% to BRL 186.7 million.
CPFL Renovaveis said its energy generation costs hiked by 56.5% in annual terms to BRL 111 million.
The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) came in at BRL 98.7 million, adding 7.4% on an annual basis. EBITDA margin stood at 52.9% between April and June, versus 60.8% in the same period last year.
