Brazil Cosan gets nod to launch 105-MW Jatai biomass TPP

(SeeNews) - Mar 4, 2013 - Brazil's energy sector regulator Aneel has cleared local sugar and ethanol player Cosan (SAO:CSAN3) to start commercial operations at its 105-MW Jatai biomass thermoelectric power plant (TPP), as promulgated in the country's State Gazette on Thursday.

The facility, which uses sugar cane bagasse as fuel, has three generation units with capacity of 35 MW each.

The guaranteed power stands at 41 average megawatts (MWa).

The plant is located in the city of Jatai, in central Goias state.
