Brazil clears operation of 8th turbine at 30-MW Atlantica V wind plant
Nov 19, 2013 - Brazilian electricity sector regulator Aneel cleared the commercial operation of the eighth turbine, of 3 MW, at the 30-MW EOL Atlantica V wind power plant. The facility will have a total 10 turbines. The plant and its adjacent transmission system are declared a priority project by the energy and mines ministry, which means that the project is authorised to raise funds through the issue of infrastructure debentures which feature some tax incentives. The park and the plants Atlantica I, II and IV form a 120-MW wind complex in Palmares do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul state. The complex was acquired by Brazilian CPFL Renovaveis in 2012.
