Brazil appoints Rodrigo Limp as new electric energy secretary

Brazil's electrical energy secretary Rodrigo Limp

March 18 (Renewables Now) - Brazilian electrical engineer Rodrigo Limp Nascimento is now the new electric energy secretary of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), the government announced in Tuesday's Official Gazette.

Before the new appointment, Limp worked at national power sector regulator Aneel, starting in 2007, and became director of the institution in 2018.

During his tenure at Aneel, Limp served as a regulation specialist from January 2007 to February 2015 at the Superintendence of Concessions, Permissions and Transmission and Distribution Authorisations. There, he performed technical and economic-financial activities associated with power transmission auctions.

Aside from his work at the power sector watchdog, Limp acted as a legislative advisor to the country's Chamber of Deputies in the area of ​​Mineral, Water and Energy Resources.
