US engineering services firm Bowman Consulting Group Ltd (NASDAQ:BWMN) aims to further accelerate the growth of its renewable energy business through the acquisition of SEI Engineering LLC (SEIE), a local provider of technical services to developers and owners of solar plants.
“Planning, engineering, and commissioning related to energy transition is a primary focus of our growth strategy and is central to our acquisition programme,” Bowman’s CEO Gary Bowman said in a press release on Monday.
Paonia, Colorado-based SEIE, operating as SEI Professional Services, was founded by renewable energy education services provider Solar Energy International (SEI). It provides photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage project engineering and quality assurance services for utility and commercial-scale solar energy facilities.
“The solar energy market is expanding much faster than we could possibly capitalise on alone. By joining Bowman, our opportunities for growth and continuing to be the premiere engineering group for solar and storage projects will only be strengthened,” said Jeff Ruppert, chief executive of SEIE.
The financial details of the deal were withheld. Bowman only noted that the acquisition is expected to initially contribute about USD 1.5 million (EUR 1.50m) of annualised net service billing.
