August 10 (Renewables Now) - US solar plants builder and operator Borrego has received contracts to deliver operation and maintenance (O&M) services for two solar parks in Ohio with a combined capacity of 100 MW.

The two deals were placed by a “leading renewable energy developer and operator,” Borrego said on Tuesday without disclosing the name of its partner. Financial details about the awards were also kept under wraps.

The photovoltaic (PV) farms, of 50 MW each, are currently under construction and are scheduled to go live in 2023. Borrego’s scope of work will cover preventative and corrective maintenance, vegetation maintenance and aerial thermal inspection services.

The contracts are the first utility-scale O&M deals for Borrego, the California-based company noted. It already has more than 1.6 GW of capacity under management.

Last month, Borrego closed the sale of its project development business to energy transition-focused investor ECP and is currently focused on the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and O&M for distributed and utility-scale solar and energy storage projects in the US.
