Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company LLC (GREC) has hired Borrego to engineer and construct two utility-scale solar farms in Montana and South Dakota with a combined capacity of 160 MW.
Specifically, Borrego will build the Montana Sun (MTSun) Solar project in Yellowstone County, Montana, and the Fall River Solar project in Fall River County, South Dakota, each of 80 MW. The construction process is expected to begin this quarter, while completion is scheduled for December 2022.
The two projects are Borrego’s first in those states, it noted. They have long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with local investment-grade utilities Northwestern Energy and Black Hills Power, respectively.
GREC has acquired both schemes from Broad Reach Power (BRP).
