Boralex commissions 10-MW solar park in France

Canadian renewables developer Boralex Inc (TSE:BLX) said on Friday it has commissioned the 10-MW Les Cigalettes solar power facility in the French communes of Montfort and Peyruis.

This is the company’s second solar project in France and was completed both on time and on budget, it said. The construction of the plant was implemented at a cost of almost EUR 11 million (USD 12.4m). About 85% of the investment was covered with bank financing from Credit Industriel et Commercial (CIC).

The Les Cigalettes solar photovoltaic (PV) facility will be selling its generated electricity to local utility Electricite de France SA (EPA:EDF), better known as EDF, under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA). The plant’s annual output is estimated at around 15 GWh.
