(SeeNews) - Oct 30, 2013 - The Brazilian National Social and Economic Development Bank (BNDES) yesterday said it approved a BRL 145.9-million (USD 66.9m/EUR 48.7m) loan to local sugar and ethanol producer Usina Batatais SA - Acucar e Alcool.<br /> The money will be used for the installation of a dehydration system for production of anhydrous ethanol, with 500 cu m (17,600 cu ft) daily capacity, at the company's mill in Lins, southeastern Sao Paulo state.<br /> Also, the sum will finance the planting of 6,406 ha (15,829 acres) of sugar cane and the acquisition of machinery and equipment for the mechanisation of the crop collection.<br /> (BRL 1.0 = USD 0.459/EUR 0.334)
