Bluefield Solar Income Fund Ltd (LON:BSIF) said today it has acquired a 4.1-MWp ground-mounted solar plant in Burnaston, Derby in England.
The solar farm provides electricity to a car factory of Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd. It was commissioned in 2011 and benefits from a 25-year feed-in tariff (FiT).
The investor in UK solar assets has bought the owner of the plant, Bluefield Harrier Ltd, for GBP 14.4 million (USD 20.6m/EUR 18.2m). It noted that its investment adviser, Bluefield Partners LLP, is also the investment adviser to the selling shareholders of Harrier.
The fund further said that each of the eight construction projects acquired as part of its previously announced prospective pipeline of 258 MWp was connected before the end of March under the 1.3 Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs) subsidy regime.
The purchase of the Burnaston solar farm brings the fund's capacity to 402 MWp.
