Sep 15, 2014 - Danish firm Better Energy Invest AS said today it has acquired an 8-MWp photovoltaic (PV) plant in Germany from local solar project developer F&S Solar Concept GmbH.
The deal has a total investment value of over EUR 8 million (USD 10.4m), the buyer said.
The PV plant is equipped with 32,300 polycrystalline modules, manufactured by Chinese firm Phono Solar Technology Co Ltd. German company SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92) delivered the central inverters and German bank Sparkasse Holstein provided long-term financing for the project.
The solar facility is located in the town of Anklam in the Western Pomerania region of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It has an estimated annual output of 8 GWh, enough to offset 6,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year. With an expected lifespan of 25 years, the plant marks Better Energy’s biggest acquisition to date, the Danish company noted.
Better Energy manages renewable energy generation assets. The company now operates a total renewable energy capacity of 33 MW.
