Beneq, Glaston join forces for TCO-coated glass

(ADPnews) - Sep 27, 2010 - Finnish industrial coating equipment supplier Beneq Oy and glass tech company Glaston Oyj Abp (HEL: GLA1V), have teamed up to develop transparent conductive oxide (TCO) glass coating applications.

The partners said on Friday that they will focus on the development of systems for continuous production of TCO coated glass for the photovoltaic (PV) industry.

For its part, Beneq will utilise its know-how in providing aerosol technologies for advanced thin-film coatings, such as TCO, anti-reflective and low-e materials. Glaston, in turn, will provide continuous flat glass heat treatment technology for demanding solar solutions.

"Beneq has been and is getting more and more involved in the solar market, and this collaboration will act as a decisive step in reaching more customers, serving them better and seeing our projects through", Beneq's CEO Sampo Ahonen said.
