Eight projects totalling more than 330 MW of German renewables company BayWa re AG have been successful in the UK’s latest contracts for difference (CfD) auction, the developer said on Thursday.
BayWa’s winning projects include six solar schemes with a combined capacity of 236 MW and two onshore wind projects totalling 98 MW.
The outcome of the CfD allocation round was announced last week. It secured nearly 11 GW of clean energy, including almost 0.9 GW of onshore wind and more than 2.2 GW of solar.
“In the face of climate and energy crises, it is more important than ever to deliver low-cost, as well as zero-carbon energy to UK consumers,” said John Milligan, managing director for BayWa re UK.
BayWa’s successful projects are located across England and Scotland.
