May 2 (Renewables Now) - Indian solar developer and power producer Azure Power Global Ltd (NYSE:AZRE) announced today that it has commissioned 90 MW of solar sites in India’s state of Assam.

The project, which Azure says is the largest of its kind in India’s northeastern state, involved construction of a solar plant across four districts in Assam -- Udalguri, Kamrup, Nagaon, and Cachar.

Azure Power commissioned the plant in phases, with 25 MW in Cachar being the latest to come online, the firm said.

The solar farm operates under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Assam Power Distribution Company Limited, with a tariff set at INR 3.34 (USD 0.044/EUR 0.041) per kWh.

(INR 10 = USD 0.131/EUR 0.124)
