Airbus sets up hydrogen tech development centre in UK
May 27, 2022 14:25 CESTJune 10 (Renewables Now) - Swiss renewable power producer and marketer Axpo Holding AG and automation technology company ABB Ltd (SWX:ABBN) have signed a letter of intent to team up on green hydrogen development in Italy.
The letter of intent was signed between Axpo Italia and ABB's energy industries division and is the latest partnership for Axpo in the hydrogen sector.
The partners will explore the development of a pilot project in Italy which will be used for the research of green hydrogen technologies and production feasibility studies.
They also plan to be involved in EU-funded research and development projects and to support green financing.
"The initiation of this agreement with Axpo, with whom we have a long-standing collaboration, is a first step in exploring the potential of green hydrogen in Italy," Sergio Durando, head of ABB Energy Industries Italia, noted.
In April, Axpo announced a memorandum of understanding with engineering consulting services company RINA for green hydrogen development in Italy.
