July 18 (Renewables Now) - Swiss green power producer Aventron AG has found an off-taker for the output of the 50-MWp Bargas subsidy-free solar park it will soon start building in Toledo, Spain.

The Swiss company has signed a five-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Statkraft AS for a total of 330 GWh of electricity from the solar park, the Norwegian state-owned utility said Thursday.

Construction of the Bargas park will begin in the coming weeks. Aventron hired Spain’s Solarpack Corporacion Tecnologica SA (BME:SPK) as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor in charge of the project. The solar park, to be located some 80 km (49.7 m) south of Madrid, is expected to start operations in July 2020.

With Bargas online, Aventron will boost its installed capacity to over half a gigawatt.
