Avangrid Renewables picks new president, CEO

October 23 (Renewables Now) - Avangrid Renewables LLC, a subsidiary of Avangrid Inc (NYSE:AGR), has appointed Alejandro de Hoz as the company’s new president and CEO, it said on Tuesday.

De Hoz is currently the vice president of Avangrid’s Offshore Wind business and will now take responsibility for both onshore and offshore wind operations. He will succeed Laura Beane who will leave Avangrid after three years at the helm of the company. 

Before joining Avangrid Renewables, Alejandro de Hoz was in charge of the offshore business performance of Spain’s Iberdrola (BME:IBE), Avangrid’s parent company, where he prepared the company’s offshore wind projects for competing in tenders in Germany and the UK. Previously, he occupied positions within the onshore business of the Iberdrola group.

At present, Avangrid Renewables owns and operates 7.2 GW of capacity in 22 US states.
