Australian Energy Matters orders 20 MW solar panels from Norwegian REC
(ADPnews) - Nov 23, 2010 - Australian solar power solutions provider Energy Matters said yesterday it has agreed to buy 20 MW REC Peak Energy solar panels of Norwegian photovoltaic (PV) equipment maker Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSL:REC), or REC.
No financial details were available.
The sold capacity corresponds to the power consumption of over 5,000 Australian homes and reduces electricity generation-related carbon emissions by 32,000 tonnes a year.
The agreement represents REC's biggest deal in Australia.
"This major supply agreement came sooner than expected due to incredible demand from home owners and businesses for our REC panel based solar power system specials," said Energy Matters CEO, Jeremy Rich, adding the company expects to be making similar purchases in the future.
