Astrum Solar to install 1 MW of home solar systems in Massachusetts
Sep 7, 2012 - US residential solar projects developer Astrum Solar yesterday said it had signed contracts to install 1,084 kW of home solar power systems in six towns in Massachusetts under the Solarize Massachusetts programme.
Astrum Solar has been selected by the communities of Palmer, Lincoln, Subdury, Wayland, Pittsfield and Lenox as the preferred installer under the programme, which promotes the deployment of small scale photovoltaic (PV) systems through a tiered pricing structure that offers increasing discounts as the number of participating residents rises. Astrum Solar will install the solar power systems at 123 customer sites across the six communities.
The Solarize Massachusetts programme was launched by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Centre and the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) last year in four communities and resulted in 162 contracts for solar power systems. In April, this year 17 communities joined the programme which ends in this month.
