Weekly renewables M&A round-up (May 23-27)
May 27, 2022 17:26 CEST(SeeNews) - Feb 26, 2013 - US thin-film solar firm Ascent Solar Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:ASTI) has teamed up with golf products distributor MKRAK Management Inc to enter the Canadian golf market, which it describes as an important segment for the company.
The solar company said today it had appointed MKRAK Management as its exclusive distributor to golf pro-shops and select retail stores in Canada.
Ascent Solar's EnerPlex Surfr product line of phone cases uses the company's copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) solar technology to extend the battery life of smart phones. Rob Roche, Ascent Solar's vice-president of sales and marketing, said that golfers now used their smart phones for a number of applications and the EnerPlex products provided them with a source of power on the golf course.
MKRAK Management will be responsible for expanding Ascent Solar's presence in Canada and establishing the EnerPlex brand in different national retailers and pro shops.
