December 13 (Renewables Now) - US solar tracker maker Array Technologies Inc is to supply almost 2 GW of single-axis solar trackers to projects of EDF Renewables North America, part of French utility EDF SA (EPA:EDF).

The partnership was announced on Thursday.

"As long-term owners of solar projects featuring DuraTrack HZ v3 single-axis solar trackers, we value reliability, high uptime, and excellent performance over the life of the solar project," Katy Lin, vice president for solar and storage technology at EDF Renewables, said.

For projects located in areas with high solar irradiance, trackers can help boost the energy output by between 20% and 30%, as compared with fixed-tilt systems, Array Technologies said.
