Aug 26, 2013 - US firm Array Technologies said Monday it had completed solar tracker shipments for a 170-MW photovoltaic (PV) plant in California, owned by Centinela Solar Energy LLC.
The solar tracking equipment maker said it had finished the delivery of its DuraTrack HZ solar tracking system six months ahead of schedule. The firm has delivered more than 1.5 GW of solar trackers globally, it noted.
Centinela Solar Energy LLC, a member of US power generation and transmission group LS Power Group, hired US-based Fluor Corp (NYSE:FLR) to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the project. The US arm of Italian firm Bonfiglioli was contracted to supply its utility-scale RPS inverter solutions.
Construction of the first 125-MW phase of the 170-MW scheme in California’s Imperial Valley was initiated in December. The whole solar park is expected to start operations by the middle of 2014, producing enough power to supply some 60,000 households. Centinela Solar will sell its output utility San Diego Gas & Electric under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
