Argentine Tabacal Agroindustria to produce 36m litres ethanol in 2010

(ADPnews) - Sep 28, 2010 - Argentine sugar producer Tabacal Agroindustria will produce 36 million litres (9.5 million gallons) of ethanol this year, out of the 100 million litres which Argentina is expected to produce, the company's president, Diego Rossi, forecast.
Tabacal's ethanol plant is located in Oran municipality, in the northern part of Salta province, and has a capacity to produce 220,000 litres a day.
In 2010, the local sector will not be able to supply enough ethanol for the fuel blend containing 95% of petrol (gasoline) and 5% of ethanol due to delays in the construction of some ethanol plants, Rossi said.
Argentina needs 300 million litres a year for the blend.
However, the country will gradually increase its ethanol production and will fully supply the blend in 2012, the official projected.
