Argentine Neuquen province to collaborate with ABO Wind for 10 MW wind farm

Sep 26, 2013 - Argentina's Neuquen province signed a cooperation agreement with German ABO Wind yesterday to develop a 10 MW wind farm in Anelo municipality, located in southern Neuquen, in 2014.

ABO Wind will collaborate with Neuquen's energy firm Epen and investment promotion agency ADI-NQN to structure financing for the project, governor Jorge Sapag said in an interview from Germany.

The plant, which is part of Neuquen's energy diversification, will be financed with proceeds from local production of non-conventional oil and gas and will supply households and an industrial park.

ABO Wind has already studied the wind in the zone of Anelo, with positive results. The company is also studying areas in Neuquen's Piedra del Aguila municipality.
