Argentine Cooperativa M Moreno to complete wind study next months - report
Argentine utility Cooperativa Electrica y de Servicios Mariano Moreno Ltda expects to know by the end of 2015 the results of a feasibility study for the construction of a wind farm in Nueve de Julio, Buenos Aires province.
According to chairman Omar Malondra, preliminary estimates suggest 20 MW for each of three possible locations studied by consultancy Ergon Sur SRL, news site Energia Estrategica reported on Tuesday. The places were selected due to local winds and proximity to transmission lines.
The utility will probably start the project by developing an initial 4 MW, or two wind turbines, which could be installed in 2016.
The feasibility study, awarded to Ergon Sur in May, is financed with funds from a provincial programme supporting distributed power generation.
