December 24 (Renewables Now) - Argentine power producer YPF Luz announced on Thursday that it has commissioned its 123-MW Canadon Leon wind farm in Santa Cruz province, in Argentina's Patagonian region.

YPF Luz, which operates as the power production unit of Argentine oil-and-gas group YPF SA, invested over USD 180 million (EUR 158.7m) in this project. It said that the wind farm has the capacity factor of 53%, and will be capable of generating enough electricity to meet consumption needs of some 150,000 households.

Canadon Leon is the third wind farm for YPF Luz following the commissioning of the 99-MW Manantiales Behr and the 175-MW Los Teros wind complex. The company also operates thermal power plants in Argentina.
