Argentina has signed contracts with seven projects, with a combined capacity of 94.42 MW, winners in round 2 of its RenovAr renewable energy auction programme.
The contracts for one wind farm, three landfill biogas projects and three small hydropower plants (HPPs) were signed with Argentina's wholesale electric market management company CAMMESA, the Undersecretariat for Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mines announced on Friday.
The wind project, called Parque Eolico Energetica I and located in Bahia Blanca, has a capacity of 79.8 MW. It is being developed by CMS de Argentina SA.
The three HPPs are the Cruz del Eje, Boca del Rio and Pichanas, each of 500 kW, to be built in Cordoba. They will be developed by provincial electric power distribution company EPEC.
The Planta de Biogas RSU Gonzalez Catan and Ensenada biogas projects, of 5 MW each and owned by Industrias J F Secco SA, are located in the province of Buenos Aires. CT Ricardone II, of 3.12 MW, will be constructed in Santa Fe province by Mikael Victor Ostberg.
Of the total 88 winning projects, 18 have signed contracts. In all its three tenders, RenovAr has awarded 147 projects with a combined capacity of 4,466.5 MW.
