Argentina signs 27 MW of RenovAr round 2 contracts

September 10 (Renewables Now) - Argentina's Ministry of Energy and Mines announced on Friday that it has signed contracts with winners of 27.34 MW from the RenovAr 2 renewable energy auction.

The eight contracts, concerning six biogas, one biomass and one small hydropower plant (HPP), were signed with Argentina's wholesale electric market management company CAMMESA. More details on the schemes are available in the table below.

Of the total 88 winning projects, 54 have now signed contracts with a combined capacity of 1,158.1 MW. In all its three tenders plus the Resolution 202, Argentina has awarded 157 green energy projects to be installed in 21 provinces with 4,966.5 MW of combined capacity, the ministry's Undersecretariat for Renewable Energy noted.
