Argentina signs 259 MW of RenovAr round 2 contracts

June 27 (Renewables Now) - Argentina has signed four contracts with winners in round 2 of its RenovAr renewable energy auction programme for a combined capacity of 259.4 MW.

The contracts, concerning three wind and one biomass project, were signed with the Argentine government, the Undersecretariat for Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mines announced on Tuesday.

Of the total 88 winning projects, 28 have now signed contracts. In all its three tenders, RenovAr awarded 147 green energy projects to be installed in 21 provinces with a combined capacity of 4,466.5 MW, the Undersecretariat noted.
