Argentina signs 179 MW of RenovAr round 2 contracts

June 5 (Renewables Now) - Argentina has signed six contracts with winners in round 2 of its RenovAr renewable energy auction programme for a combined capacity of 178.8 MW.

The contracts, concerning two wind, two biogas and two biomass projects, were signed with Argentina's wholesale electric market management company CAMMESA, the Undersecretariat for Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mines announced on Monday.

Of the total 88 winning projects, 24 have now signed contracts. In all its three tenders, RenovAr has awarded 147 projects with a combined capacity of 4,466.5 MW.
