September 4 (Renewables Now) - Hamburg-based investor Aquila Capital has launched a new open-ended fund that will generate income through a portfolio of European wind, solar photovoltaic (PV) and hydropower assets.
The so-called European Balanced Renewables Fund had its first close in June 2019, when it got a cornerstone investment from advisory and broking company Willis Towers Watson. The exact size of the transaction was not disclosed.
Aquila Capital says that the new fund ensures diversification by geography, technology and income source.
”Our new offering is based on the conviction that institutional capital increasingly needs to find balanced ways to invest in the European energy transition,” commented Roman Rosslenbroich, co-founder and CEO of Aquila Capital.
