Nov 25, 2014 - US-based firm Apex Clean Energy said yesterday it has secured USD 12.7 million (EUR 10.2m) in financing from a recent fundraising initiative.
The proceeds were obtained from 13 investors, the wind and solar power developer said in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. However, it did not specify how it would use the funds.
Last week, Swedish furniture retailer Ikea said it has acquired a 165-MW wind farm in Texas for an undisclosed amount from Apex. The US firm is currently building the Cameron park in Texas’ southern county of Cameron. The facility will consist of 55 Acciona turbines of 3 MW each that are scheduled to be put on stream near the end of 2015.
Virginia-based Apex unveiled plans for the construction of a 200-MW wind farm in the state of New York in October.
