Aneel okays commercial operations of 2nd turbine at Ipaussu biomass TPP
Jul 27, 2012 - Brazilian energy sector regulator Aneel cleared the start-up of the commercial operations of the second turbine at the UTE Ipaussu biomass thermoelectric power plant (TPP), after it was expanded to 38 MW, media reported yesterday.
Previously, the turbine had a capacity of 32 MW.
The 63.5-MW plant is located in the Ipaussu municipality, southeastern Sao Paulo state.
The facility is owned by bioenergy producer Barra Bioenergia, a subsidiary of local sugar and ethanol maker Cosan (SAO:CSAN3).
