Aneel clears commercial operation of 20 units at EOL Salto wind plant
Dec 5, 2011 - Brazil's electricity sector watchdog Aneel allowed on Friday the commercial operation of the first 20 energy units at the EOL Salto wind power plant in Agua Doce, southern Santa Catarina state.
The units have a combined installed capacity of 30 MW and were cleared for test operation in mid-November.
Salto is owned by local wind energy developer Salto Energia Eolica SA.
Aneel also authorised the test operation of 20 turbines at the Aquibata wind power plant, also in Agua Doce. Each turbine has a capacity of 1.5 MW. The commercial operation of the units may begin only after the completion of the test operations.
