Amtech unit gets 800-MW solar diffusion system order
The solar unit of US thermal processing equipment supplier Amtech Systems Inc (NASDAQ:ASYS) has received a roughly 800-MW order for atmospheric high-throughput solar diffusion systems, the parent company said on Wednesday.
The subsidiary, namely Tempress Systems, has been awarded the contract by a “leading solar cell and module manufacturer in China”, whose name was not disclosed. The value of the deal was not mentioned either.
The company expects to ship the systems within the next three to nine months.
Tempress previously implemented a 400-MW HD-POCl3 systems supply order for a top-tier Taiwanese cell producer, Amtech’s CEO Fokko Pentinga pointed out in a press release.
"This new HD-POCl3 process has demonstrated significantly lower cost of ownership than competing technologies and is providing important benefits to our customers,” Pentinga added.
