Alternus Energy completes 24-MW solar buy in Poland

Alternus Energy Group Plc (OSE:ALT) said Thursday it has wrapped up its purchase of 11 MW of solar parks in Poland, concluding a bigger, 24-MW acquisition.

The Dublin-based independent power producer (IPP) thus reached 88.6 MW of operational capacity in the country.

The solar farms, of 1 MW each, are located in different parts of Poland. Commercial operations for the 11 MW started in the first quarter of this year under 15-year government offtake contracts. Alternus Energy will be in charge of the asset management while its unit Uper Energy BV will take on the operations and maintenance (O&M).

In December, Alternus completed the acquisition of 13 MW from the same unnamed developer in Poland. It funded the two deals with bond issuances in November 2021 and March 2022.

“Our contracted pipeline exceeds 350 MW, 150 MW of which has been secured with the same development partner underpinning our commitment to long term development partnerships. We look forward to continuing this successful collaboration and contributing to Poland’s decarbonisation efforts,” said Vincent Browne, Chairman and CEO.
