Located in Kogi state, the project has a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA). A request for proposal (RFP) process will follow the EOI to award a contract for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) as well as operation and maintenance (O&M) of the photovoltaic (PV) power plant, Alten Africa stated in a document.

Currently, Nigeria aims at a 20% share of solar power in its mix by 2030.
