Alten seeks EPC, O&M contractors for 100 MW of PV in Nigeria

October 16 (Renewables Now) - Alten Africa investee Middle Band Solar One Ltd (MBSO) is expecting until October 26 expressions of interest (EOI) from contractors prepared to build and operate a 100-MW solar project in Nigeria.

Located in Kogi state, the project has a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA). A request for proposal (RFP) process will follow the EOI to award a contract for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) as well as operation and maintenance (O&M) of the photovoltaic (PV) power plant, Alten Africa stated in a document.

Currently, Nigeria aims at a 20% share of solar power in its mix by 2030.

Alten Africa is part of Spain-based independent power producer (IPP) Alten Energias Renovables. Recently, it reached financial close on a 45-MW solar project in Namibia and it is also developing a 52-MW project in Kenya.
