March 22 (Renewables Now) - French renewable energy producer Albioma Sa (EPA:ABIO) said on Thursday that one of its subsidiaries has obtained a long-term loan for EUR 61 million (USD 69.4m) to refinance existing solar assets.

Albioma Solaire France got the non-recourse project loan from Natixis Energeco and Unifergie so it could refinance the solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants it acquired from Dutch energy company Eneco in December 2018.

At the time, the Albioma unit bought Eneco France, which had an installed capacity of 17 MW plus a “strong” portfolio of under-development projects. Albioma already had 8 MW of existing plants then.

Albioma Solaire France noted that the fresh financing includes an amount for funding the construction of a portfolio of small- and medium-power PV parks.
