Weekly renewables M&A round-up (Jun 27-Jul 1)
Jul 01, 2022 17:05 CESTMarch 14 (Renewables Now) - Paris-based renewable power producer Akuo Energy on Monday said it has teamed up with Greek photovoltaic (PV) installer Spyropoulos SA to launch an aggregator to represent Greek renewable energy producers at the wholesale electricity market.
GEARS SA, the newly-created aggregator on the Hellenic Energy Exchange, has signed its first contracts and already represents more than 55 MW of solar power plants, located across Greece, with more expected to join in the current quarter.
Using real-time data analytics and new algorithms, it provides detailed production forecasts and access to both the spot and derivatives market. The aggregator also offers operation, monitoring and maintenance services for assets.
Akuo stressed renewables’ participation in energy markets with the help of aggregators is ever more important given the increasing share of green sources and their role in addressing high energy costs and threats to energy security as those currently observed in the EU.
The company has been present in Greece since 2018.
