India’s Adani Green Energy Ltd (BOM:541450) has put on stream a 390-MW hybrid renewable energy complex in the state of Rajasthan, which it says is the first wind-solar farm in its home country.
The renewables developer announced on Saturday that the new plant’s commissioning has raised the operational capacity in its fleet to 5.8 GW.
Located in the city of Jaisalmer, the solar-wind complex will be run under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the renewable energy ministry's nodal agency Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. The tariff of the off-take contract is INR 2.69 (USD 0.035/EUR 0.32) per kWh.
The project was realised by Adani Green’s subsidiary Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer One Ltd (AHEJOL). According to the developer, the combination of wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) technologies resolves issues related to the intermittency of the generation and provides a more reliable solution.
Adani Green aims at having 45 GW of renewable power production capacity by 2030. Currently, the company's total renewable portfolio, including projects under development and construction, stands at 20.4 GW.
