Aug 9, 2011 - Vienna-based solar technology developer Activ Solar announced today that it will build a solar power plant with a nominal capacity of 80 MW in Ohotnikovo, Crimea, Ukraine.
The project will be developed in four construction phases, each covering 20 MW of capacity, the company said. The first construction phase is already completed and the solar park was connected to the grid.
The second phase of the project is expected to be launched in the next weeks. The last two construction phases are scheduled for completion by the end of 2011, Activ Solar said.
The solar plant in Ohotnikovo will be producing 100,000 MW/h of electricity a year, enough to supply 20,000 households with clean energy and to offset 80,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
