Abu Dhabi’s Masdar to pursue renewables opportunities with Chinese partners

December 15 (SeeNews) - Abu Dhabi’s Masdar has signed a pact with a couple of Chinese companies to collaborate on potential projects in both the UAE and China, including pursuing renewable energy opportunities.

The renewables firm said on Monday it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with real estate developer China Vanke Co Ltd (SHE:200002) and China Merchants New Energy Group Ltd, a unit of state-owned of China Merchants Group (CMG), as well as with life sciences research institute BGI and the Masdar Institute.

“International partnerships are key to the diversification of energy sources and to enhancing innovations that will deliver renewable technologies both for the UAE, the Middle East region and for China,” said Ahmad Belhoul, CEO of Masdar.
