Simply Blue plans close to 5 GW of floating wind off Sweden
May 18, 2022 14:27 CESTDecember 7 (Renewables Now) - German developer ABO Wind AG (ETR:AB9) last week announced the commissioning of its first battery storage system with a capacity of 445 kWh in Hesse, central Germany.
The battery was installed for waste disposal firm Abfallentsorgung Kreis Kassel and will store power from the company's solar panels, while also providing emergency power supply. The system's capacity can be expanded by 30% to meet the company's growing energy needs.
ABO Wind plans to use the experience from the first project for the three planned hybrid systems including storage for which it secured tariffs this year, as well as for its own hybrid project at its headquarters in Wiesbaden.
