Spanish engineering and renewables group Abengoa (BME:ABG) announced today it has finalised its first solar photovoltaic (PV) project in India -- a 5-MW plant located in the city of Roorkee, Uttarakhand state.
Abengoa was responsible for the supply and assembly of the support structures, the modules assembly, as well as for the construction of the electrical buildings, the fencing, urbanising works and the assembly of the panel cleaning system, it said in a statement. The company carried out the work under a contract with Enerparc Energy.
The Spanish group said it was also recently contracted to produce and supply the steel structures for two other PV projects totalling 130 MW. These plants will be built by Gamesa (BME:GAM) for Atria Power.
Also, Abengoa has a job on a 3-MW solar project in Aligarh, it added.
