(SeeNews) - Nov 1, 2013 - The Argentinean unit of Swiss-Swedish engineering group ABB (VTX:ABBN, STO:ABB) will supply 458 Outdoor Vacuum Reclosers (OVR) for 29 wind power projects in Brazil.<br /> ABB's plant in Valentin Alsina has already produced 228 of the reclosers, which were supplied in November 2012, and it is now assembling the remainder.<br /> The wind power projects are located in Caetite, Guanambi, Igapora and Pindai municipalities, all in the northeastern Bahia state.<br /> The devices are designed to avoid failures of aerial power lines. The equipment is able to detect an overcurrent, stop it and automatically re-energise the line. For wind farms, their use means less time for project development and greater efficiency in locating and repairing failures.
