German photovoltaic (PV) plants owner 7C Solarparken AG (ETR:HRPK) has acquired a solar park of 20 MWp in Bavaria and met its 335-MWp portfolio capacity target ahead of schedule.
The solar park is located in the district of the town of Lichtenfels, southern Germany, and is expected to generate more than 1,050 kWh of clean electricity per kWp of installed capacity, 7C Solarparken said on Friday.
The average fixed feed-in tariff to be received by the power plant amounts to EUR 51 (USD 59) per MWh but since it consists of the market price plus market premium, 7C Solarparken expects to be able to benefit from the high market prices. The forward prices for 2022 currently exceed EUR 100 per MWh and the company's management expects strong demand from energy consumers who seek a fixed price amid the current price volatility.
The facility was planned and built by photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage developer IBC Solar AG.
With the latest acquisition, 7C Solarparken has reached the target for a portfolio of 335 MWp which was set for the end of 2021. The Bayreuth-based company seeks to expand this to 400 MWp by the end of next year. Including solar parks operated on behalf of third parties, the portfolio should reach 500 MWp by end-2022.
